"From the General State Administration we are already thinking not only about responding to this crisis, but also about reconstruction, recovery, and the revitalisation of the affected areas", the head of the Executive affirmed. Pedro Sánchez flew over the areas most damaged by Storm Leonardo in the province of Cádiz by helicopter and, accompanied by the Minister for Home Affairs, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, and the Government Delegate in Andalusia, Pedro Fernández, visited the Advanced Command Post located in the municipality of San Roque.
The president stressed that the General State Administration has deployed more than 10,000 personnel since the beginning of this crisis, "in perfect coordination with the Andalusian Regional Government, the provincial councils, and the municipalities". In addition to praising the "extraordinary coordination and cooperation" maintained with the regional administrations, he highlighted the work of all public servants who are working "24 hours a day, seven days a week" in the face of a succession of storms affecting much of the Iberian Peninsula and, particularly, Andalusia.
Faced with "very adverse weather" and the arrival of another storm tomorrow, Pedro Sánchez called for calm and prudence and asked citizens to stay informed through emergency services, both those of the Andalusian Regional Government and those of all public administrations. "Because this is how we are guaranteeing the safety of our citizens," he stated.

The President of the Government of Spain also expressed his gratitude for the public service the media is providing to residents of the affected areas, to whom he conveyed his solidarity: "We have all been overwhelmed by these relentless rains, the ground no longer able to absorb any more water and, therefore, expelling it. Residents in towns that have been cut off, roads and transport services cancelled or suspended as a result of these storms. And, most importantly, the evacuation of many residents".
The president stressed that the emergency services always act with the safety of citizens in mind. "This is what guides and informs all decisions made by the Civil Protection system, and therefore, all we ask is for patience and trust in the experts, in those who truly know how to manage these types of weather emergencies", he stated.
