NEW YORK - Oct. 6, 2026 - Beginning tonight, MS NOW will take five of its programs on the road for live broadcasts from five key battleground states, putting the network's anchors on the ground in Maine, Ohio, Georgia, Texas and Michigan during the final month of the 2026 midterm elections.
As part of MS NOW's Road to the Midterms, Jen Psaki, Ali Velshi, Chris Hayes, Katy Tur and Peter Alexander will each anchor their programs live from a different state throughout October, reporting from communities at the center of some of the country's most closely watched races and speaking directly with voters, candidates and key voices about the issues driving the election in their states.
Psaki kicks off the special editions tonight, Tuesday, Oct. 6, at 9 p.m. ET with The Briefing with Jen Psaki airing live from Portland, Maine, as early voting starts in the hotly contested election between incumbent Republican Senator Susan Collins and Democratic Senate candidate and former State Senator Troy Jackson.
On Tuesday, Oct. 13, Velshi will helm The 11th Hour with Ali Velshi at 11 p.m. ET live from Columbus, Ohio, discussing the nationally watched gubernatorial and Senate races. Velshi, the network's chief data reporter, will speak with voters at The Ohio State University about the state of the Ohio races and break down how election night unfolds.
The next day, Hayes will anchor All In with Chris Hayes at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 14, live from Atlanta, Georgia. Hayes will discuss the Senate and gubernatorial elections and the ripple effect they could have for downballot races in the state.
The following week, on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 2 p.m. ET, Katy Tur will bring The Moment with Katy Tur to Austin, Texas, as the Senate race between Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Texas State Rep. James Talarico narrows. Tur will discuss the national implications of the Texas races, and the communities Democrats must win to help make Talarico the first Democratic senator from Texas since 1988.
The Road to the Midterms will conclude in Detroit, Michigan, on Tuesday, October 27 at 11 a.m. ET, with State of Play with Peter Alexander, where Alexander will cover the tight race between Democratic Senate candidate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed and former U.S. Representative Mike Rogers and discuss how voters are impacted by President Trump's trade war with Canada.
MS NOW's Chief Political Reporter Chris Jansing, Political Director Shawna Thomas, and reporters Nnamdi Egwuonwu, Will McDuffie, Josh Einiger and more will contribute to on-the-ground reporting throughout MS NOW's Road to the Midterms, speaking with voters in battleground states about each race and the national implications of this election cycle.
