SurveyMonkey today announced something completely different: it's hosting the World's Most Uncurious Meeting.
"You're probably thinking, 'I've already been in the world's most uncurious meeting. It was last Thursday,'" said Katie Miserany, chief communications officer and global head of marketing at SurveyMonkey. "That's fair. But we're confident we can host a meeting that's even worse."
The event is inspired by findings from SurveyMonkey's recent State of Curiosity Report, which uncovered a significant gap between how workers see themselves and how their workplaces operate. While 95% of workers describe themselves as curious, only 30% say their workplace strongly rewards curiosity. Nearly four in 10 workers admit they've pretended to understand something rather than ask a question. Meanwhile, more leaders are turning to AI instead of colleagues for answers, reflecting a workplace culture that increasingly prioritizes speed and efficiency over curiosity.
