The Home Depot Foundation is putting honor in action through its annual Celebration of Service campaign, dedicated to improving the homes and lives of U.S. veterans. This is the 15th consecutive year the Foundation has held its annual veterans service campaign.
Even after a decade of improvement, there are still over 30,000 veterans experiencing homelessness. From Patriot Day to Veterans Day, Team Depot, The Home Depot's associate volunteer force, will honor our nation's heroes with hundreds of projects to renovate, repair and refresh veteran homes and facilities.
Projects will focus on helping veterans secure safe, accessible housing through critical home repairs, smart home modifications, and renovations to transitional or permanent supportive housing facilities. These efforts reflect The Home Depot Foundation's commitment to ensuring every veteran has a safe place to call home.
These volunteer effortswill address multiple aspects of veteran housing needs through:
The Celebration of Service campaign runs from September 8 through November 14, building on the Foundation's commitment to invest $750 million in veteran causes by 2030. Since 2011, The Foundation has donated more than $600 million to veteran causes, and Team Depot has volunteered with more than 14,000 nonprofits across the country, investing more than 2.8 million hours of sweat equity in our communities.
