DWC launches new online system for public records requests

NEWSLINE

The California Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) is pleased to announce the launch of a new online platform for submitting and tracking Public Records Act (PRA) requests . Built on the ServiceNow platform, this modernized system went live on December 1, 2025, offering the public an accessible, transparent, and efficient way to request records from DWC.

The new system allows users to:

  • Submit PRA requests online through a user-friendly portal
  • Track the status of their requests
  • Communicate directly with DWC staff through secure messaging
  • Receive and download records electronically
  • Make payments for applicable fees via credit card, ACH, or checks

The platform allows DWC staff to automate certain tasks, which will reduce processing time and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

Visit DWC's Public Records Act page for more information about how to file a PRA request with the Division, including a guide for external users. Media requests for documents should be sent to [email protected].

To register an account or to submit a PRA request, visit the Department of Industrial Relations Online Services Portal: https://services.dir.ca.gov/gsp .
