City of St. Petersburg Hosts Seniors' Month Event Series to Celebrate Community

July 29, 2026 - The City of St. Petersburg's Parks and Recreation Department invites adults ages 55 and older to celebrate Seniors' Month this August with a lineup of engaging events designed to inspire connection, creativity, adventure, and lifelong fun.

The Seniors' Month event series celebrates the spirit of older adults by offering enriching experiences that bring people together, foster new friendships, and highlight the many opportunities available through the St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation Department. From interactive theater and international experiences to arts showcases and Caribbean-inspired celebrations, each event offers enriching, inclusive opportunities for participants to build community, discover new interests, and create lasting memories.

2026 Seniors' Month Event Lineup

First Class Flight Around the World with Bay Vista Airlines

Saturday, August 1, from 6 - 9 p.m.
Frank Cubby Fellowship Center, 3438 5th Ave. S

Join the crew from Bay Vista Recreation Center on a first-class adventure featuring music, dancing, international cuisine, and cultural experiences inspired by Italy, Jamaica, and Mexico.

Murder Mystery Dinner Theater: "A Reunion to Die For"

Friday, August 14, from 6 - 9 p.m.
Sunshine Senior Center, 330 5th St. N

Put your detective skills to the test during this interactive dinner theater experience where guests work together to solve a mystery filled with clues, suspense, and surprises.

Generations in Harmony: A Celebration of Arts, Crafts, Talent & Theater

Thursday, August 20, from 5 - 7:30 p.m.
Enoch D. Davis Center, 1111 18th Ave. S

Celebrate creativity and community through a showcase of visual arts, crafts, performances, and talent. Participants are encouraged to share their skills, explore new interests, and enjoy a day of artistic expression.

Golden Island Escape: A Caribbean Celebration

Friday, August 21, from 6 - 9 p.m.
Azalea Recreation Center, 1600 72nd St. N

Transport yourself to the islands with an evening of calypso and steel drum music, tropical food and drinks, and lively entertainment. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite island attire and enjoy a relaxing Caribbean-inspired getaway.

Explore programs offered for adults at Roberts Recreation Center through live demonstrations of Tai Chi, Kung Fu, musical theater, pottery wheel throwing, and cyanotype printmaking. The event also includes music, raffles, appetizers, and refreshments.
