American Beverage Celebrates America Recycles Day, Highlights More Than $2 Million in 2025 Every Bottle Back Investments

WASHINGTON - This America Recycles Day, America's beverage companies are celebrating six years of progress through the Every Bottle Back initiative, highlighted by over $2 million in investments in 2025 alone and the delivery of one million recycling carts to American households. These carts, many of which are a size upgrade or are for families who did not have one before, are helping millions keep valuable materials in use and out of the landfill.

The $2 million American Beverage provided across seven states this year is going towards expanding access to recycling and improving the infrastructure that turns used bottles and cans into new ones.

"Our bottles and cans are made to be remade, and families across the country can see that promise in action," said Kevin Keane, president and CEO of American Beverage. "We've delivered more than one million recycling carts, making it easier for communities to participate in recycling programs while increasing the number of 100% recycled plastic bottles and cans on store shelves. Our commitment is ongoing: to protect the environment and keep these valuable materials out of landfills for generations to come."

Through Every Bottle Back, in collaboration with Closed Loop Partners and The Recycling Partnership, America's beverage companies have:

  • Invested in recycling infrastructure across 66 communities nationwide
  • Keeping an estimated 737 million pounds of PET and 46 million pounds of aluminum out of landfills and the environment over the next decade

Highlights from 2025 projects include:

Every Bottle Back remains a cornerstone of the beverage industry's sustainability leadership by ensuring recyclable plastic bottles and aluminum cans are collected and remade as intended. As the initiative moves into 2026 and beyond, it will continue to expand infrastructure, modernize collection systems, educate communities on proper recycling practices and advance policy solutions that make recycling more efficient, accessible and financially sustainable nationwide.
