Fox Chase Cancer Center Welcomes Dr. Maureen Hill

Maureen Hill, MD, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Fox Chase Cancer Center

PHILADELPHIA (September 9, 2025) - Fox Chase Cancer Center is pleased to announce the hiring of Maureen Hill, MD, as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery. In addition to seeing patients at Fox Chase, Hill will provide services at the Temple Health - Chestnut Hill Hospital Campus.

Hill most recently served as a surgical oncologist at Valley Health Surgical Oncology in Winchester, Virginia, where she provided multidisciplinary cancer care and led numerous institutional initiatives aimed at improving surgical quality and patient outcomes.

Hill previously completed her fellowship in complex general surgical oncology at Fox Chase, where she also served as a clinical instructor of surgical oncology. She brings particular expertise in gastrointestinal and melanoma-related cancers, as well as robotic surgery. She has also been recognized for her leadership in opioid stewardship and patient education.

Hill earned her medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University's Sidney Kimmel Medical College and completed her general surgery residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, where she served as administrative chief resident. She holds board certifications in both general surgery and complex general surgical oncology.

Throughout her career, Hill has been an active clinical investigator and educator. She has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, presented extensively at national conferences, and has been invited to speak on topics ranging from surgical innovation to melanoma management.

She currently serves on several professional committees and maintains active memberships in leading surgical organizations, including the Society of Surgical Oncology and the American College of Surgeons.
