Between October and December 2025, guests spent 172.3 million nights in short-term rental accommodation in the EU, booked through Airbnb, Booking or Expedia. The total number of guest nights in the last quarter of 2025 increased by 10.9% compared with the same quarter of 2024, and by 30.2% compared with the last quarter of 2023.
Looking at the whole of 2025, guests spent a total of 951.6 million nights in short-stay accommodations booked online, indicating a 11.4% increase compared with 2024 and a 32.4% jump from 2023.

This information comes from monthly data on short-stay accommodation offered via online platforms. Today, Eurostat published the data for the fourth quarter of 2025 at the national level and for the third quarter of 2025 at the regional level.

The most popular regions for short-term rental accommodation booked via online platforms in the third quarter of 2025 were Jadranska Hrvatska (27.7 million nights) in Croatia, followed by Andalucia (19.5 million) in Spain and Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (16.9 million) in France.
The 20 most popular tourist regions were all located in just 6 EU countries: 6 in France, 5 in Spain, 4 in Italy, 3 in Greece, and 1 in Portugal and Croatia.
