Author Meagan Brandy to Host Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Book Signing at the Grand Opening at 9AM on Wednesday, June 10th, 2026
Turlock, CA - June 3rd, 2026 -Barnes & Noble is pleased to announce the opening of its new Turlock, CA bookstore on Wednesday, June 10th. This marks the second opening in the Central Valley in the last two months, joining a new store in nearby Clovis that opened in April to large crowds of excited readers. This is also the 9th new Barnes & Noble to open in the Golden State since January of 2025, with five more new store openings still to come this year.
The Turlock Barnes & Noble will offer over 18,000 square feet of books, toys, games, magazines, gift items and more. It is located in Monte Vista Crossing (2693 Countryside Dr, Turlock, CA 95380), in the former Forever 21 space, next to Rack Room Shoes.
The store will officially open to the public at 9AM on Wednesday the 10th, with local author Meagan Brandy cutting the ribbon and signing copies of her fan-favorite romance books, The Brayshaw Series. This opening is one of two Barnes & Noble grand opening celebrations happening on June 10th, joining a new store in Lake Nona Florida, in southeast Orlando.
Barnes & Noble Premium and Rewards Members will earn double stamps on all purchases made between June 10th and 14th. Customers who are not yet Members are encouraged to sign up and start earning stamps and rewards right away.
Everyone who visits the new Turlock Barnes & Noble during the grand opening will have access to exclusive deals, like $50 off any NOOK device. Customers can also save 40% on all DVD, Blu-ray, and 4k Ultra HD movies.
"The recent store opening in Clovis has been greeted with enthusiasm beyond even our high expectations," said James Daunt, CEO of Barnes & Noble. "Turlock lost its only bookstore over a year ago and we're very pleased to now bring a first-rate bookshop back to the city. To open another bookstore in the Central Valley is a highlight in a year packed with new shop openings."
Store Manager Jeremiah Ward, a bookseller with Barnes & Noble for 17 years, echoed James Daunt's thoughts, saying, "I am excited to return a bookstore to my local community. I firmly believe a bookstore can be much more than a place to buy books; it's a cultural and social hub that strengthens a community in meaningful and tangible ways, an inclusive, welcoming space that fosters connection and a sense of belonging."
Barnes & Noble is enjoying a period of tremendous growth as the strategy to hand control of each bookstore to its local booksellers has proven so successful. The bookseller is experiencing strong sales in its existing stores and will open more than 60 new stores this year, for the third year in a row. Barnes & Noble now boasts over 700 bookstores, having been below 600 stores as recently as 2023.
