DNR Offering Free Workshops for Contractors Interested in Fuel Reduction Projects

January 23, 2026

Contractors interested in working with private landowners can meet DNR service foresters and learn how projects may be eligible for cost-share funding

Southeast Region staff from the Washington State Department of Natural Resources are holding two free workshops next month for contractors interested in working on fuel reduction projects with private landowners.

Both workshops (see below for details) will focus on the DNR Service Forestry Program, which works with private landowners to complete forest health and wildfire mitigation work on their properties; many of these projects are eligible for cost-share funding.

New and existing contractors will benefit from attending a workshop by learning about changes to the Service Forestry Program, how forest landowners can apply for cost-share funding, permitted and prescribed burning, and tax information provided by the Washington Department of Revenue.

There is no cost to attend, but pre-registration is preferred. Please email [email protected] with questions and to RSVP. A virtual option will be available for those who are unable to attend in person.

Workshop #1: 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on February 12 at the Klickitat PUD Goldendale Office

Workshop #2: 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on February 19 at Wenatchee Valley Fire Department Station 4
