Nashua Man Charged With Possessing Unregistered Machine Gun Conversion Device

CONCORD - Nashua resident Alexander Diandro Cruz, 19, charged by criminal complaint for possession of a machine gun, was arrested yesterday and appeared in federal court today, U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan announces. Cruz is being detained following his appearance in court.

On September 24, 2026, Nashua Police encountered Cruz and found him in possession of a loaded Glock firearm equipped with a "switch" or machine gun conversion device. A machine gun must be lawfully registered to a possessor in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record, but Cruz is not lawfully registered to possess such a weapon.

The charging statute provides a sentence of no greater than 10 years in prison, 3 years of supervised release, and a fine of $10,000.

The details contained in charging documents are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives and the Nashua Police department are leading the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles Rombeau is prosecuting the case.
