2026 Health Insurance Prices Now Available for Granite Staters on HealthCare.Gov, Massive Increases Emphasizes Need for Congress to Provide Relief

WASHINGTON - Granite Staters who buy their health insurance through the healthcare.gov marketplace can now view prices for health insurance premiums for next year. Health insurance premiums for Granite Staters are surging across the board, and because Congress has failed to extend tax cuts for people who buy health insurance on the exchange, many Granite Staters are seeing prices that have more than doubled compared to 2025. There is still time to act to prevent this massive price increase on families.

"Granite Staters are learning about the massive surge in health insurance prices that is coming their way if Congress does not act," said Senator Hassan. "Families should not be forced to make heart-wrenching decisions about whether to forego health insurance in order to keep a roof over their heads. There is still time to act, and I urge my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to come to the table and reach an agreement to reopen the government and address this calamity which is now at the doorstep of millions of Americans."

As just one example, the new prices show that for a 60-year-old Manchester couple making $42,500 each per year, the cost of health insurance will go from an already-too-expensive $837.10 per month to $1,868.42 per month for the exact same plan. Open enrollment for these plans begins on November 1.

Senator Hassan has been sounding the alarm about the impending health care crisis facing families and continues to push colleagues on both sides of the aisle to come to the table and reopen the government while protecting health care access for millions of Americans.
