The Minister for Defence, Margarita Robles, has held a videoconference with Ukraine's Senior Military Commanders of the State Border Guard Service to update operational needs and coordinate specific Spanish support for this force.

During her speech, Robles reiterated that Spain's objective is for its support to be "practical, useful and timely", and to focus on the capabilities most in demand by the Border Guard.

In this context, the minister confirmed the recent delivery of anti-tank defence systems, and the forthcoming shipments of ammunition of various calibres, night vision equipment and tactical vehicles. All of this is accompanied by the necessary documentation and technical support for rapid commissioning. During the conversation, Robles and the Ukrainian commanders also exchanged ideas for improving military health and hospital support.

The minister recognised and underlined the special nature of the Military Border Guard's mission, which integrates frontline military support functions with assistance and proximity to the civilian population, reaffirming Spain's firm commitment to the defence of Ukraine and the protection of its citizens.

For his part, the lieutenant general, head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, thanked the minister for her unwavering attention and readiness to promptly respond to the needs expressed.
