More Than a Meal: Nourishing Palm Beach County’s Seniors

A healthy meal can nourish the body-but sharing it with friends can nourish the spirit.

For older adults across the county, the Palm Beach County Community Services Department's senior centers are more than places to gather. They are places to connect, build friendships, stay active, and access resources that support a healthier, more independent life. At the heart of that experience is the Nutrition Program, providing nutritious meals while creating opportunities for seniors to come together around the table.

For many seniors, mealtimes are also social time, a chance to see familiar faces, catch up with friends, and feel connected to their community. That sense of belonging can be just as meaningful as the meal itself. What may begin as a simple lunch can become one of the most anticipated parts of a senior's day.

Through the Community Services Department's senior centers, the Nutrition Program helps make nutritious meals accessible Monday- Friday in a welcoming environment where seniors can eat well, connect with others, and enjoy life. In addition to breakfast and lunch at our three senior centers, there are over 13 congregate meal sites located throughout Palm Beach County. The Home Delivered Meal Program assists seniors who are not able to prepare their own meals or shop for groceries.

Nourishing More Than Bodies

The Nutrition Program reflects Palm Beach County's commitment to supporting older adults where they live, work, and thrive. By providing nutritious meals and a welcoming place to enjoy them, the program helps address an essential part of healthy aging while strengthening the social connections that keep communities vibrant.

Because nutrition is about more than food. It's about health. It's about connections. It's about dignity. And it's about making sure our seniors have the opportunity to thrive.

This work is made possible through the support of grant funding, donations, Palm Beach County residents, and the investment of local taxpayer dollars.

Your investment helps put nutritious meals on the table-and creates places where our seniors can connect, belong, and enjoy life. More than a meal. It's an investment in our seniors.
