On 8 July 2026, Ms. Sirilak Niyom, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, together with Air Vice Marshal Amorn Chomchoey, Secretary-General of the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA), and Mr. Ratchakorn Napapornpipat, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Security Council (NSC), jointly inaugurated the Workshop on the National Implementation of the UN Norms of Responsible State Behavior in Cyberspace, held at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) from 8 to 10 July 2026.
The Deputy Permanent Secretary highlighted the pivotal role of information technology and cyberspace in driving Thailand's economic and social development. She also emphasized the critical need for relevant Thai personnel to enhance their capabilities in order to effectively leverage cyber advancements for national development. The meeting was co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the NSC, the NCSA, and the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), with an aim to build cybersecurity capacity among Thai officials. It also focused on integrating the UN Norms of Responsible State Behavior in Cyberspace into Thailand's national context and strategic priorities.
