Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Ben Ray Luján (D-N.M.) announced nearly $982 million in federal funding secured for New Mexico in the Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) Energy and Water Development; Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies; and Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies appropriations bills.
In the appropriations bills now headed to the President's desk, Senator Luján successfully secured $981,926,000 for 29 critical New Mexico projects.

In the FY26 Energy and Water Development appropriations bill, Senator Luján secured $951,248,000 for New Mexico projects.

In the FY26 Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies appropriations bill, Senator Luján secured $24,658,000 for New Mexico projects.

In the FY26 Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies appropriations bill, Senator Luján secured $6,020,000 for New Mexico projects.

Supporting the Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project:

$120,000,000 to support the Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project through the Bureau of Reclamation. Senator Luján, Senator Heinrich, and Representative Leger Fernández secured a provision that increases the Navajo-Gallup Water Supply Project's cost ceiling and allows the Bureau of Reclamation to move funding to support the project through its water settlements fund.
