COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Department of Aging (AGE) announced today that Montgomery County will start offering an expanded service program to provide all-in-one care for Ohio adults 55 and older. In partnership with BoldAge PACE, the new Montgomery County facility officially opened on November 1, 2026, at 200 Daruma Parkway, Moraine, Ohio 45349.
The Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) is a groundbreaking care model designed for older adults who require a level of support typically found in nursing facilities. It enables older adults to access the necessary assistance to remain in their homes and communities, rather than relocating to an institutional long-term care setting.
"Aging with dignity, purpose, and security should not be optional in Ohio but expected," said Director Ursel J. McElroy. "Expanding PACE today positions Ohio for the future by offering accessible, quality care for older Ohioans to remain in their communities and near those they love."
PACE services are also currently available in Franklin, Summit, Cuyahoga, Lorain, Ashtabula, Trumbull, and Mahoning counties. Additionally, services will expand into Lucas County by early 2027. AGE estimates more than 220,000 Ohioans 55 and older will be eligible for PACE services.
PACE is a proven, person-centered managed care model for Ohio's most vulnerable older adults that integrates medical, social, and personal care services under one coordinated model that is a less costly alternative to other long-term care services.
Most of the participants are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid. PACE services include primary and specialty care, adult day health services, personal care services, inpatient hospital care, prescription drugs, occupational and physical therapies, and nursing home care.
"PACE's interdisciplinary care model addresses complex care needs for an increasing number of older Ohioans and gives family caregivers peace of mind," Director McElroy said. "By increasing access to less costly innovative care options and providing relief to working family caregivers, PACE expansion is helping us turn our vision into reality for Ohio to be the best place to age in the nation."
For those interested in enrolling a loved one into the program, an interdisciplinary team of professionals is available to help determine how PACE can support an individual's specific needs. Many payment options are available, including Medicare and Medicaid. Participants can also pay out of pocket for services.
