QUINCY, Mass. - Join the National Park Service (NPS) at Adams National Historical Park on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29, for a premier 250th anniversary event commemorating the American Revolution experiences of Abigail Adams and the legacy of her famous "Remember the Ladies" letter to John Adams.

"Remember the Ladies, and be more generous and favourable to them than your ancestors," Abigail Adams advised her husband, John, on March 31, 1776. She was writing from her farm at the foot of Penn's Hill in Braintree, now Quincy. John was in Philadelphia at the Second Continental Congress. The Adamses regularly corresponded, with Abigail providing important details from the ongoing war and John seeking her guidance as the Congress debated independence. Her "Remember the Ladies" letter remains one of her most-known writings 250 years later.

"We want to bring the world of Abigail Adams to the public," said Superintendent Marianne Peak. "She was an extremely influential figure during the American Revolution and in the early years of the nation. We are pleased to invite the public to celebrate her life and legacy during three special programs and events taking place the weekend of March 28 and 29." These special events include a symposium on March 28, an event at the Adams Farm at Penn's Hill on March 29 and Abigail Adams trolley tours on March 28 and 29.
