Wave of Light ceremony offers remembrance, healing for pregnancy and infant loss

East Alabama Health is hosting a Wave of Light ceremony in observance of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. The ceremony is open to the public.

"This ceremony offers a quiet, sacred space for families to honor their baby lost and acknowledge the grief that follows pregnancy or infant loss," EAMC Chaplain Laura Eason said. "Our hope is that each person who attends feels supported, loved and surrounded by a caring community."

The ceremony will take place Thursday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. in the East Alabama Medical Center (EAMC) Memorial Garden behind Labor Management, which is located at 511 E. Thomason Circle.

A candle-lighting ceremony will take place in remembrance of the young lives lost, and names of the babies will be read aloud.
