Pullman State Historic Site to host Wildwood Garden Party on Aug. 29
SPRINGFIELD - The Pullman State Historic Site in Chicago will host a Wildwood Garden Party from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29.
Inspired by the historic Wildwood Club, a 19th-century social club, this community event welcomes anyone interested in leisure, lunch and the grounds of the Pullman State Historic Site. The party will feature a cricket game, 1890s fashion show, crafts, music, dancing, food trucks and more. Guests are encouraged to dress in 1890s-style clothing, but it's not required.

The Pullman State Historic Site is at 610 E. 111th St. in Chicago. The historic district was once home to the Pullman Company that produced rail cars. The historic site features the Queen Anne-style Hotel Florence . The Pullman manufacturing community played a key role in the African American labor movement.
