Nominations Open for 2025 Provost Staff Excellence Awards

Nominations are now open for the 2025 Provost Staff Excellence Awards. Presented by the Provost's Office in partnership with the Academic Affairs Staff Advisory Council (AASAC), the Provost Staff Excellence Awards are given annually in appreciation and recognition of the critical work done by staff members in Academic Affairs to advance UMass Amherst's education, research and service mission.
The awards recognize and reward staff who demonstrate exceptional performance in their work and service to their stakeholders and contribute to the overall success of their unit, college/school or the entire university.
All Academic Affairs staff members in the USA/MTA, PSU, AFSCME, and non-unit workgroups are eligible for nomination for the award. Nominations can be submitted by any member of the university community with a UMass Amherst email account, though self-nominations will not be considered. Nomination categories include Change Agent, DEIB/JEDI Champion, Teamwork and Dedication, and Positivity in the Workplace. Nominators will be asked to provide a brief narrative with their nomination.
The deadline to nominate a deserving staff member is Monday, Nov. 10.
Awardees will be announced in December. Each awardee will receive a monetary award and will be recognized at a campus event on March 25, 2026, in the Student Union Ballroom.
