On 25 June, the third PetroHSE 2026 industry conference, organised by the Kazakhstan Oil and Gas Council (PetroCouncil), took place in Atyrau. The event brought together representatives of government agencies, national companies, international operators and the expert community to discuss industrial safety, occupational health and safety, and environmental protection.
Talgat Uandykov, Senior Manager of the Occupational Health, Safety, Environment and Fire Safety Department at JSC NC QazaqGaz, delivered a presentation highlighting the Group's digital HSE initiatives, including the BaQylau corporate platform, which has already been implemented across seven subsidiaries. Conference participants were also introduced to the development of the HSE EXPERT AI assistant, a project being delivered with the support of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund.
Arsen Nugmanov, Head of the Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Department at GPC Investment LLP, also addressed the conference. He presented the environmental safety solutions being implemented as part of the Kashagan Gas Processing Plant project, including the introduction of enclosed flare technology, one of the most advanced environmental solutions currently available for gas processing facilities.
Compared with conventional open flare systems, enclosed flare technology enables more complete gas combustion, helping to reduce pollutant emissions while also lowering noise levels and minimising light pollution.
It is worth noting that, for the first time in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Methodology for Calculating Emission Standards for Enclosed Flare Systems was approved by an Order of the Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan on 24 June 2026. The adoption of this methodology establishes the regulatory framework for the use of enclosed flare technology across the country.
