Lithuania: Bite upgrades antennas to quadruple 5G capacity at major event venues

Bite Lithuania deployed Ericsson Massive MIMO antennas at two major outdoor venues, quadrupling network capacity for large crowds.

Lithuania, 28 July 2026 - Bite Lithuania announced that it has deployed Ericsson Massive MIMO antennas at Vingis Park in Vilnius and the Darius and Girėnas Stadium in Kaunas, two of the country's largest outdoor event venues. The operator said the antennas quadruple network capacity and can support up to 15,000 people using mobile services simultaneously.

The upgrade is intended to reduce network congestion during concerts and festivals, when large crowds upload photos and stream video. Bite said the equipment was tested at scale during an open-air song festival at Vingis Park and that it plans to extend the enhanced 5G network across Lithuania by the autumn of 2026.
