Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program now open to teens in Onalaska

Monday, November 10, 2025

Emplify Health by Gundersenhas reached another milestone in its mission to treat the whole person. On Nov. 12, the Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) opened in the Kaitlin's Table Day Center, located in the Behavioral Health Onalaskabuilding. This new program was made possible by the generosity of donors at the Children's Miracle Network HospitalsMiracle Gala on April 11, which raised more than $125,000 to fund the program.

The Adolescent PHP, the only program of its kind in the Coulee Region, is a structured mental health program designed for adolescents ages 13 through 18 who are still in high school and are struggling with emotional and behavioral concerns. The goal is to improve mental health symptoms and encourage coping skills for teens that are necessary for improved function at home and school.

Adolescent PHP is a group-based program that lasts three weeks. While in the program, each teen will receive individual therapy appointments, family therapy appointments and psychiatry appointments. It can be an appropriate transition to outpatient care for teens following a behavioral health hospitalization, and it can be an effective option for preventing future inpatient hospitalization.

The program can also be appropriate if a teen needs more than traditional outpatient therapy but does not need an inpatient stay.
