Take Part in Stony Brook’s Annual CommUniversity Day on September 26

The Stony Brook University community is invited to take part in CommUniversity Day 2026, scheduled for Saturday, September 26.

This annual, festival-style event is free and open to the public and will be held from 12 pm to 4 pm on the Academic Mall, with an indoor rain plan in place for the same day in the Stony Brook Arena.

Last year, nearly 3,500 attendees from both the internal and external community were on campus for CommUniversity Day. 115 individuals, clubs and departments from the university, Stony Brook Medicine and nonprofit community partners were featured.

Get Involved

The entire Stony Brook community and community partners are invited to host an activity this year. Those who are interested in participating can fill out the event participation form.

Fun for All Ages

CommUniversity Day is hosting its third LEGO competition. All LEGO enthusiasts are invited to build a LEGO creation that exemplifies their vision of community. The competition results will be announced leading up to the CommUniversity Day Ice Cream Social and Rubber Duck Race. Participation is free and registration is required.

Returning festival favorites include the Instrument Petting Zoo, Teddy Bear Clinic, Storytime with the Tooth Fairy and health screenings.
