WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, U.S. Representative Sykes (OH-13) issued the following statement honoring the victims of the Holocaust and reaffirming the need to confront antisemitism and hatred wherever it appears.
"On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honor the six million Jewish lives murdered in the Holocaust and recommit ourselves to the promise of never again," said Rep Sykes. "Never again is now. That promise is not only about remembering history, it is a call to action today. As antisemitism rises at home and abroad, we must remain vigilant in speaking out against hate and defending the dignity and humanity of all people.
"This day is especially solemn as Israel receives the remains of the last hostage taken during the October 7th Hamas terrorist attacks, a painful reminder that hatred and violence still persist.
"We must confront antisemitism wherever it appears and ensure that nothing like the Holocaust ever happens again."
