Portions of Several Streets to Close Week of September 22

Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) today announced that portions of several streets will close the week of September 22. The closures are as follows:

• Westbound Old Cheney Road between 40th and 48th streets will be closed beginning Monday, September 22, for private sanitary sewer line installation. This work is expected to be completed by Friday, October 3. The recommended detour is 48th Street to Nebraska Parkway to 40th Street.

• 14th Street between Pine Lake and Yankee Hill roads will have alternating northbound lane closures for an asphalt overlay project beginning Monday, September 22. The first phase of this work is expected to be completed by Tuesday, September 23, and includes milling and removing a thin layer of concrete. A second phase includes applying an Ultrathin Bonded Asphalt Surface to the milled street.

• Northwest 12th Street between West Adams Street and West Upland Avenue will have alternating northbound and southbound lane closures beginning Wednesday, September 24, for an asphalt overlay project. This first phase of this work is expected to be completed by Thursday, September 25. The first phase of this work includes milling and removing a thin layer of concrete. A second phase includes applying an Ultrathin Bonded Asphalt Surface to the milled street.

Travelers are encouraged to seek an alternate route and exercise caution around these closures. LTU appreciates the public's patience during these closures and reminds residents that project dates are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen circumstances.
