Tom Pelphrey on How He and Fiancé Kaley Cuoco Differ in Parenting Daughter Matilda

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/KosETxOYRG8A

Drew: I feel so happy for your beautiful fiancé Kaley Cuoco. Because you know you have a beautiful partner and a beautiful daughter and how lucky for those women to see and have actually a male model that kind of behavior and in touchness with their emotions.

Tom: I mean, the blessing is mine. I have two amazing women. I'm so happy that our daughter has such an awesome mom to model herself on, you know, it's funny, you talk about, you know, sort of roles and what a mom does versus what a dad does. Kaley's a boss. Kaley's a CEO, Kaley is an organizer, Kaley is a doer, and I'm kind of, a bit of a like daydreamer, feeler, you know, I'm kind of, we're a good team, but we're, we're different.

Drew: I think it's so important that, you know, every human, let alone both genders, be able to be as strong as possible and be as vulnerable as possible.

Tom: 100%. No, we can, I can see that in my daughter now, Matilda. She's 2.5 years old.

Drew: Congratulations.

Tom: Thank you. She's heaven. She's heaven, but she's so loud and confident and excited and big, and I'm so happy about that.

Drew: And is it true that there was like a moment where she really missed you and something like, I don't know, she missed her dad.

Tom: She did. I was away for work and Kaley, you know, Matilda got upset and Kaley said, Matilda, it's OK. Daddy's coming back for you. And she was like, OK. So then later in the day, Kaley got upset and Matilda walked up to her and took her face in her hands. She said, it's OK, mama. Daddy's coming home for you.

Drew: That's modeling.

Tom Reveals That Fiancé Kaley Cuoco Read the Script for "Task" Before He Did

Drew: Is it true also that your beautiful fiancé also, read the script of 'Task'?

Tom: Yes.

Drew: Is it true even before you did?

Tom: So yeah, she read the script first. She read the first episode of 'Task' and she said, 'This is one of the best episodes of television I've ever read.'

Drew: And I mean she knows television.

Tom: She knows television, 100%.

Drew: And you also transform like a real chameleon in it, which is always one of my favorite things when I see someone physically transform and without any of the crutches or aids of, you know, prosthetics and all these things like I feel like it comes from within it's hair and makeup and wardrobe, but you're relying far more on your own skill set than you are on tricks. And I find that completely commendable because I did not recognize you in this role either.

Drew: Steve Kazikoff, actually, would you please come out?

Steve: You look great, as always.

Drew: Come please have a seat, Steve, or excuse me, Kaz, if I may. Speaking of when you're younger, I think we have a few photos actually, that you brought that, if you, oh my god, first of all, was this the 1930s?

Tom: That was me on the bread line.

Drew: You do you look like a member of our gang grown up a little bit with a severe middle part.

you look, oh my God, oh no, I love this. What is this moment?

Tom: 'Oklahoma.' So, so God bless Steve Kazikoff. He, he cast me as Curly in 'Oklahoma' and I am not a singer, and Curly sings a lot in 'Oklahoma' and he has me into his room when he tells me, remember you told me that I had the role and you said, 'Tom I am trusting you to do a lot of work on this.'

Steve: And you did.

Tom: I tried my best.

Steve: I thought you were wonderful with it, really.

Drew: I think we have two more pictures. OK, what's this moment, Steve? Again, you're, this is all looking like early 1900s.

Steve: This was when he started, we were rehearsing 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.' You were.

Tom: I was Pierce Pierrepont, Jay Pierrepont, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Drew: And then here's the last one again, 100 years ago. What are you doing here in this beautiful pre-war moment.

Steve: That's 'Guys and Dolls' he's doing and, yeah, he's, he's dancing there and singing.

Tom: Rolling those dice, baby. This is when they finally figured it out. It was my senior year and they did a play where I could act and I didn't have to sing. So I played Nathan. And all Nathan has to do is sue me, sue me. What can you do me? I love you, you know, you can kind of talk your way through it.

Drew: And you know what, you can talk, sing. Like it, it helps a lot. And there's nothing you can't do if you don't practice, and you, that's a testament. You said, I couldn't sing and dance, and there you are singing and dancing.
