The President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, visited the 'Salvo D'Acquisto' Carabinieri barracks this morning, accompanied by the Commander General of the Carabinieri Corps, General Salvatore Luongo. At the barracks, home to the headquarters of the 'Palidoro' Mobile and Specialised Units Command, President Meloni met with the Carabinieri personnel who were on public order duties in the Susa Valley (Turin) during the violent clashes that took place at the 'No TAV' protests against the high-speed rail line on 25 July.
During her visit, President Meloni expressed her sincere thanks to the military personnel for their professionalism, bravery and sense of duty in carrying out their work. She also met with a number of Carabinieri who were injured in the clashes, offering the solidarity and gratitude of the institutions, both personally and on behalf of the entire Government.
