Detpak USA selects Spartanburg County for first US manufacturing operation

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Detpak USA (Detpak), a global packaging supplier supporting quick-service restaurant (QSR), food service, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and retail customers, today announced it selects Spartanburg County for its first U.S. manufacturing operation. The company's multi-million-dollar investment will create over 50 new jobs during its initial phase.

Formed in 1981, Detpak is a subsidiary of Detmold Group (Detmold), an Australian company that produces premium packaging solutions. Detpak and Detmold have an international footprint; the companies sell into 45 countries and have manufacturing operations in eight. Detmold also has two existing U.S. sales operations in Los Angeles and Tampa, Florida. 


Detpak's new, approximately 175,000 square-foot production facility, located at 2781 New Cut Road in Spartanburg, will support the company's North American market growth and utilize both imported and locally sourced raw materials from existing suppliers.

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development awarded a $100,000 Set-Aside grant to Spartanburg County to assist with the costs of building improvements.
