Digital: On Monday, the first meeting of the Canada - European Union (EU) Digital Partnership Council took place. The joint declaration, together with the agreements on artificial intelligence and on digital credentials and trust services, can be downloaded here.

Digital Commons: The consortium for a European digital infrastructure, Digital Commons European Digital Infrastructure Consortium (DC EDIC), has been officially launched in The Hague. DC EDIC aims to strengthen Europe's digital sovereignty by coordinating national efforts to develop open, interoperable and reusable digital solutions that can be shared across borders.

Virtual Worlds: The European Commission, together with the Virtual Worlds Association, has established the European Partnership for Virtual Worlds. The partnership aims to promote research, innovation, standardisation and skills development and to bring together all actors of the value chain. Between 2025 and 2027, the EU will provide €200 million under Horizon Europe and members of the Virtual Worlds Association will provide at least the same amount.

The request for a preliminary ruling from the Înalta Curte de Casaţie şi Justiţie (Romania) of 16 September 2024 concerns, among other things, the question of whether a text posted on a social network expressing an opinion on social practices considered inappropriate can be regarded as a work protected by copyright.
