In the past year, several Assembly Members hosted community conversations about the municipality's budget, funding history, and current challenges, including the Our Muni, Our Budget workshops presented by Assembly Chair Brawley and Member Baldwin Day, community budget presentations by Assembly Members Goecker and Martinez, and the upcoming North Anchorage Talks Budget sessions hosted by Assembly Member Sydney Scout.
On September 1, the Assembly passed a resolution (AR 2026-255) to establish a Fiscal Future Initiative and engage the Assembly and community in long-term fiscal education & strategic visioning with a community fiscal future summit in October 2026.
The MOA Fiscal Future Summit will be held on Friday, October 30th at the UAA Student Union. This event is open to the public and people with all levels of Municipal budget knowledge (including none) are welcome and encouraged to participate.
