Your Voice, Your Budget: Cary Hosting April 7 Open House to Help Shape the Community’s Future

Cary, NC- The Town of Cary will host a Budget Open House on Tuesday, April 7 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Cary Senior Center ballroom, inviting the community to take part in shaping Cary's future. The event offers residents an opportunity to explore how the Town's budget is built and share the priorities that matter most to them in the year ahead.

Designed as a drop-in experience, the open house allows attendees to participate at their convenience. An educational budget presentation will repeat throughout the evening, and Town departments will host interactive booths where guests can connect directly with staff, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of the services and programs supported by their tax dollars and fees.

Feedback gathered during the open house will help inform the FY27 budget, which is currently being developed and will be recommended to Council by Interim Town Manager Russ Overton this spring.

"Our budget is fundamentally one of the most important things we do. And we do it every year. It's how we fund Police and Fire, keep our parks and greenways in shape, maintain roads, and plan for Cary's future," said Overton. "Residents deserve to have a voice in that process. When we listen to the community, we make a stronger budget, and that makes Cary stronger."

Those who are unable to attend can follow the event live on Cary TV, carync.tv, and the Town's social media channels.

The Budget Open House is one of many opportunities for the community to help shape Cary's budget. Throughout the year, residents and businesses are encouraged to share their thoughts by contacting Cary 311 or commenting during the Public Speaks Out portion of Council meetings.

Each spring, Council also holds dedicated budget public hearings as part of its regular meetings, and the community is encouraged to share budget priorities during those public hearings. For details, visit carync.gov/budgetinput
