Sandy Springs Initiates Transportation Planning

The City of Sandy Springs Embarks on Transportation Master Plan Process, Invites Community to Open House Series

February 4, 2026

The City of Sandy Springs has launched the 2026 Transportation Master Plan (TMP) process and invites community members to help shape the future of local transportation. The TMP will establish the City's vision for transportation investments over the next 10 years, supporting how Sandy Springs residents travel throughout the City.

An upcoming series of listening sessions will provide opportunities for the public to learn more about the TMP and share input on traffic congestion, transportation, and potential projects that support walking, cycling, and transit, as well as safety.

To ensure residents have convenient opportunities to participate, the City will host four open houses. Each meeting will feature the same opportunity for feedback.

  • Tuesday, February 24 | 5:30-7:30 p.m.

North Fulton Government Service Center, 7741 Roswell Road NE

  • Wednesday, February 25 | 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m. (Note: there will be two meetings on Feb. 25)

Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center, City Hall, 1 Galambos Way

  • Thursday, February 26 | 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Church of the Redeemer, 5185 Peachtree Dunwoody Road

Public input will help prioritize projects for the 2026 Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST) referendum. Public engagement began in the fall of 2025 with a survey to gather initial, high-level feedback on transportation goals, current methods of travel, challenges, and potential solutions. Community engagement will continue through the summer of 2026.

The 2026 Transportation Master Plan (TMP) identifies transportation across Sandy Springs and develops a program of projects and strategies intended to improve the safety and operation of the transportation system. The plan builds upon the City's existing Transportation Master Plan which was adopted in 2021. For more information, please visit spr.gs/tmp.
