Brickell Drive Stormwater Improvements Project

The City of Fort Lauderdale and Southeastern Engineering Contractors are making improvements to the stormwater system along Brickell Drive in Colee Hammock. The work includes:

  • Replacing 200 feet of stormwater pipe
  • Replacing three stormwater catch basins
  • Installing a new stormwater manhole
  • Installing a new tidal valve
  • Restoring impacted asphalt and landscaping

Construction will begin on Monday, April 13, 2026, and is expected to be completed by Friday, May 8, 2026. Work will take place Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic Impacts

  • Brickell Drive will be open to local traffic only west of Tarpon Drive continuously throughout construction.
  • Traffic control personnel will direct traffic near the work area during work hours.
  • Access to driveways will be maintained during construction.
  • Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.
