Limited Tickets Remain for Re-Tie the Red Ribbon Fundraiser on Sept. 12
The annual Re-Tie the Red Ribbon fundraiser will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, at the National Museum of the Great Lakes in downtown Toledo.
Re-Tie the Red Ribbon supports the Ann Wayson Locher Memorial Fund for HIV Care, which provides provide services for patients who have needs that cannot be covered by other agencies or programs.
This year's event includes a self-guided tour of the museum, dinner and dessert from area food trucks, entertainment and a Maumee River cruise aboard the Sandpiper.
The event will be held from 4 to 9 p.m., with the river cruise taking place from 7 to 9 p.m.
A limited number of tickets remain. Individual tickets cost $100 each and can be purchased online through the UToledo Foundation website.
Ann Wayson Locher opened the first grant-funded free and anonymous HIV testing site in northwest Ohio in 1985 and was one of the key organizers for The University of Toledo's Ryan White Program. The memorial fund was developed in her honor after her death in 2010.
The UToledo Health Care Clinic provides comprehensive HIV care through the Ryan White Program and offers education, prevention and treatment for sexually transmitted infections.
