Emory ranked among Atlanta's healthiest employers

September 14, 2026

For the fifth consecutive year, the Atlanta Business Chronicle has ranked Emory among the area's healthiest employers. Accepting the award on Emory's behalf were (L-R) Greg Esper, Emma Trotter, Kendall Dennis, Kevin Moody, Farrah Williams, Danielle Lenane, Michael Kraft and Rock Anderson.

Emory's commitment to supporting employee well-being continues to earn recognition. For the fifth consecutive year, Emory has been named one of Atlanta's Healthiest Employers, earning fifth place in the 2026 Atlanta's Healthiest Employer Awards among employers with 5,000 or more employees.

Presented annually by the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the award recognizes organizations that have gone beyond traditional employee benefits to build comprehensive well-being programs that enhance employee experience, engagement and organizational culture.

What's behind the recognition

Employee well-being at Emory is supported through a collaborative effort across Healthy Emory, the Emory Office of Well-Being (EmWELL), Total Rewards, WorkLife, the Faculty Staff Assistance Program (FSAP), Revive and other partners that deliver programs, benefits and resources to support multiple facets of well-being: physical; mental and emotional; social and community; financial; and learning and career.

Together, these teams help enhance employee resilience, reduce burnout and create positive employee experiences across the organization. Emory's recognition reflects the impact of a comprehensive portfolio of programs, benefits and resources designed to help employees thrive in all aspects of life. Well-being offerings include:

  • Healthy Emory Connect, a platform that enables benefits-eligible employees and spouses to earn medical plan well-being incentives and rewards.
  • Emory's network of Well-being Champions who promote health and connection across the organization.
  • Programs supporting physical activity, nutrition, social well-being, preventive health and chronic disease management.
  • Mental health and emotional well-being resources, including EmBRACE Peer Support, Stress First Aid training, employee assistance programs (FSAP for Emory University employees and Revive for Emory Healthcare employees) and counseling services.
  • Work-life, caregiver, financial well-being, leave and family support benefits that help employees successfully navigate both personal and professional responsibilities.

Why it matters

Recognition from the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of Atlanta's Healthiest Employers reflects Emory's commitment to creating an environment where employees can do their best work while feeling valued, connected and cared for.

At Emory, employee well-being is more than a benefit. It is an investment in the people who power our mission. As an academic health system, Emory's quality of care, research, education and service are deeply connected to our workforce's well-being.

By providing a comprehensive network of well-being programs, mental health resources, benefits and support services, Emory helps employees navigate challenges, build resilience and thrive both personally and professionally.
