CE members attend exclusive Afternoon Tea online

The Cruise Europe (CE) Afternoon Tea series aims to provide a platform for dialogue, bringing together experts from across the maritime sector to exchange ideas and inspire progress. Sharing knowledge, experiences and best practices is essential to build a more innovative, resilient and sustainable cruise industry," says host Ana Lourenco, chair of the CE sustainability committee and cruise manager at the Port of Lisbon.

The most recent edition focused on 'Smart Ports: The Power of Data and Digitalisation' took place in mid July. During the discussion, speakers Ingvar M Mathisen, Port of Oslo, Mieke Laethem, Port of Antwerp-Bruges and Mario Spadina from SeaCras demonstrated how data-driven decision-making, digital platforms and innovative technologies are helping ports improve operational efficiency, enhance sustainability, optimise the passenger experience and strengthen cooperation between all stakeholders in the cruise ecosystem.

One of the key messages from the session was clear: becoming a smart port is not simply about adopting new technologies, it is about using data intelligently to make better decisions, increase resilience and deliver greater value for ports, cruise lines, destinations and local communities.
