The Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Cllr Ruairí McHugh, hosted a special reception at the Guildhall on Thursday evening to celebrate the achievements of Tristar Football Club Girls following a successful 2025 season.

During the event, the Mayor made a special presentation to team captains Nicole Macari and Beau Faulkner in recognition of the team's recent accomplishments and their dedication on and off the pitch.

The reception recognised the hard work, commitment and teamwork shown by the young players over the past two years, as well as the continued support of their coaches, volunteers and families who play an important role in the team's success.

Mayor McHugh said, "It was a pleasure to welcome the Tristar Football Club Girls to the Guildhall and recognise their fantastic achievements. Their dedication, teamwork and passion for the game are an inspiration, and they are wonderful ambassadors for their club and for girls' football in our district."

Also in attendance at the presentation was club chair and coach Shaun Condren, who has played a key role in supporting the development of the team.

The Mayor wished the Tristar FC Girls every success in the seasons ahead.
