Montgomery Man Sentenced to Over 33 Years in Prison Following Three-Day Crime Spree

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - A Montgomery man has been sentenced in federal court for robbing four gas stations at gunpoint during a three-day crime spree in January 2025, including firing multiple shots during two of the robberies.

On October 21, 2026, 20-year-old Perrion Savage received a sentence of 402 months in federal prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release. Federal inmates are not eligible for parole.

"This crime spree put gas station employees and the public at risk as the defendant used a firearm to carry out robberies at four locations across Montgomery," said U.S. Attorney Thomas Govan. "His decision to fire shots during two of the robberies underscores the danger these crimes pose to our community. The U.S. Attorney's Office remains committed to working with our law enforcement partners to hold violent offenders accountable and protect the safety of the people we serve."

"Perrion Savage's violent actions during this crime spree put innocent people in danger," said FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jordan Hadfield. "This sentence reflects the seriousness of his offenses and reinforces our commitment to working with the Montgomery Police Department and our federal partners to protect the community and hold violent offenders accountable."

According to his plea agreement and other court records, Savage committed four gas station robberies in Montgomery between January 28 and January 30, 2025. The robberies occurred at gas stations on South Perry Street, Wares Ferry Road, Jackson Ferry Road, and Zelda Road.

During the first robbery, Savage grew impatient when the clerk took too long to open the cash register and fired his gun into a display of tobacco products. In the second robbery, he again discharged his firearm, this time firing three shots. Savage brandished a gun during the third robbery as well, and he carried out a fourth gas-station robbery within the same three-day span.

On May 28, 2026, the defendant pleaded guilty to four counts of Hobbs Act robbery, two counts of discharging a firearm during a crime of violence, and one count of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Montgomery Police Department investigated this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Michelle Turner prosecuted the case for the Middle District of Alabama.

Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) is the Department of Justice's nationwide initiative that brings federal, state, local, and tribal law enforcement, prosecutors, and other public safety partners together to coordinate efforts to combat violent crime and make communities safe. Coordinated by U.S. Attorneys' offices in each of the 94 federal districts, PSN is tailored to particular communities to strategically address specific violent crime and public safety challenges. As a key component of Operation Take Back America, PSN serves a central role in the Department's commitment to make our country safe. PSN emphasizes three core principles: rapid federal response to violent crime and criminal offenders; strong, strategic partnerships among law enforcement at all levels; and accountability and deterrence through the prosecution of the most serious, readily provable offenses and other strategies. These efforts complement and strengthen President Trump's Homeland Security Task Forces, ensuring a comprehensive federal response to the most pressing public safety issues facing communities.
