The George Washington University will once again bring its global community together for 24 hours of generosity when GW Giving Day returns, beginning at noon on April 7.

Now in its sixth year, the annual campaign invites students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends to support the people, programs and initiatives that make GW distinctive. This year's theme, "One GW, Many Stories," celebrates the unique journeys across the university while bringing the community together to shape its next chapter.

Throughout the day, donors are encouraged to take advantage of matches and challenges, which can amplify the impact of individual gifts. Community members can also participate as advocates, with the top three individuals who secure the most donors earning prize money to direct to the GW areas of their choice.

On campus, Giving Day will feature opportunities for students to join in the celebration. Amidday event in Kogan Plaza from noon to 3 p.m. on April 7 will include games, photo opportunities and snacks. In the evening, a new student-focused eventat the rooftop of the Hive Hotel will help build excitement and engagement. At both events, participants can compete to win donor-funded prize money to support areas across the university.

With nearly 50 pages on the Giving Day website representing colleges, schools, departments, and interdisciplinary centers, donors can now find the specific area they want to support-whether it's a research initiative or a favorite academic department. At the same time, Giving Day continues to celebrate 'One GW' mission by offering the option to give to foundational areas like the President's Fund for Excellence or university-wide scholarships.

"Giving Day is a powerful reminder that no matter where our community is, we are all united by the mission to move GW forward and support the next generation of leaders, " said Daniel J. Burgner, assistant vice president for annual giving. "Whether it's the energy we'll see on campus or social media, this day is about people working together to strengthen our foundation for excellence and write our next chapter together."
