Point Pleasant Beach Borough recently closed on a $2,083,228 loan with the NJ Water Bank to rehabilitate three water storage tanks: a 300,000-gallon water spheroid tank, a 150,000-gallon flat-bottom tank, and a 600,000-gallon flat-bottom tank. The project involves sandblasting to completely remove existing paint and reapplication of protective coatings to both the interior and exterior surfaces. Complete shrouding will be used during sandblasting to ensure no materials or paint escape the site. In addition, the work requires coordination for the temporary removal and relocation of cellular equipment mounted on the tanks. These improvements are essential to maintaining Point Pleasant Beach's water distribution system, ensuring a reliable supply of potable water, meeting peak demand, and supporting fire protection needs.
