Delays for Tide Light Rail Maintenance

NORFOLK, Va. - Tide Light Rail trains are being delayed by a few minutes systemwide in both directions due to ongoing maintenance.

Motorists may notice that trains are stopping ahead of designated station platforms as part of this maintenance. Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) reminds drivers to wait until the train has passed and, for gated intersections, barriers are lifted before proceeding across tracks.

Never drive in front of a train or when lights are flashing, gates are down, or train horns are audible. Be sure to adhere to all traffic signs and lights at track crossings and look both ways before proceeding.

Pedestrians are reminded to always use designated walkways to reach stations and to never cross intersections when gates are down.

Maintenance is expected to continue into next week.
