Murrieta Fire & Rescue Responds to Early Morning Fatal Mobile Home Fire

MURRIETA, CA - Early this morning, Murrieta Fire & Rescue (MFR) responded to a residential structure fire on the 41000 block of Knight Drive.

The Murrieta Emergency Dispatch Center received the initial 911 call at 4:42 a.m. Upon arrival, MFR units encountered a mobile home, a carport, three vehicles, two outbuildings, and a large pine tree fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters immediately entered emergency rescue mode, initiating an aggressive fire attack while simultaneously searching the structure for trapped residents. Despite these efforts, the building's structural integrity was rapidly compromised, forcing firefighters to transition to a defensive firefighting operation. The fire was knocked down within approximately 45 minutes.

Five individuals were inside the residence at the time of the fire. As of this release, the status of the occupants is as follows:

  • Three occupants have been accounted for and transported to a local area hospital.
  • Two occupants were found deceased inside the structure.
  • Multiple household pets perished in the blaze.

A collaborative fire investigation is currently underway, involving Murrieta Fire & Rescue and the Murrieta Police Department, to determine the origin and cause of the fire.

No further details regarding the identities of the occupants are being released at this time.
