Emergency Procedures for Apples Damaged by Freeze in April 2026 - Expansion to Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont

BACKGROUND:

On July 6, 2026, the Risk Management Agency (RMA) issued MGR-26-006.2, Emergency Procedures for Apples Damaged by Freeze in April 2026. The Manager's Bulletin authorized emergency procedures for all fresh apples insured with the optional coverage for Fresh Fruit Quality Adjustment damaged by the freeze event in Maryland, Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Based on information received since the issuance of MGR-26-006.2, the emergency procedures should be extended to additional states in the Midwestern, Mid-Atlantic, and Northeastern regions of the United States.

ACTION:

RMA is extending the emergency loss procedures authorized by MGR-26-006.2 to all counties in Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
