Columbia Police arrest stalking suspect after standoff on Parkade Boulevard

(COLUMBIA, MO) -

At about 3 p.m. April 16, Columbia Police attempted to arrest Brian Strickland, 58, of Columbia, for first-degree stalking in the 1500 block of Parkade Boulevard when Strickland barricaded himself inside a residence.

Strickland made suicidal and homicidal threats during the standoff, and it was believed that he had a weapon. The Columbia Police Crisis Negotiation and SWAT teams safely brought Strickland into custody at about 7:45 p.m.
