Whether you are flying your own aircraft or traveling as a charter passenger, you just expect to be connected. Connectivity is now an expectation on all types of aircraft, which is why at Gogo, we're committed to providing access to streamlined connectivity solutions for every type of business aircraft to ensure staying connected is cost-effective, convenient, and simple.
This is why over the next twelve months, we are upgrading our ATG systems in North America. At the end of this year, our new 5G ATG will be operable; and in May 2026, we will switch on a new LTE network. Both services are more aligned with today's technology, and more importantly, with today's operator expectations.
We're also providing promotions to help customers stay connected
Enabling improved, more reliable connectivity means we must switch off the older technology. It is a binary moment. Although it may seem inconvenient, we introduced the original technology to our Gogo ATG customers back in 2008. At the time, it was cutting-edge, yet just as it would be impossible to use terrestrial cellphone technology from seventeen years ago today, it is becoming impossible for our existing legacy system to deliver the service needed to keep aircraft connected. The technology has changed and evolved, which is why we are making the change to our infrastructure.
Aircraft owners with legacy terminals will need to replace old cabin hardware to maintain connectivity. For customer aircraft equipped with Gogo's classic or legacy ATG 1000, 2000, 4000 or 5000 systems, we have purpose-designed a new line replaceable unit to allow a quick, uncomplicated exchange.
The Gogo C1 unit is a form-fit box that directly replaces legacy equipment and generally takes less than a day to equip. We understand that some legacy ATG customers are happy with the level of connectivity the system provides. For them, a simple change from their current box to our Gogo C1 product will keep any of the 42 aircraft models covered by the C1 STC connected. To ensure uninterrupted coverage, it houses a dual technology aircard enabling a upgraded Gogo Biz North American 850MHz Licensed LTE network.
For customers seeking a cost-effective exchange, we are supporting the requirement financially and practically. If customers commit to the exchange before 31 December 2025, we will provide a $35,000 installation incentive rebate for the C1 box exchange. This effectively covers the cost of the hardware. We are also working with our extensive network of MROs to support installation by pre-provisioning them with the hardware, training, and knowledge to facilitate a seamless exchange. Some are offering to undertake the exchange at the customer's hangar, while others are creating slots for the work to be undertaken.
In August 2025, our records listed 2,000 aircraft equipped with legacy ATG boxes that were yet to be booked in for upgrade. Wait too long and you risk missing out not only on a slot before the May 2026 switchover, but also the significant financial benefits. The deadline is exactly that. There will be no extensions on the commitment timeline for the rebate or on the LTE cutover, so we are strongly encouraging customers to plan ahead.
For legacy customers seeking a significantly enhanced connectivity experience, we're also offering incentives for upgrades to the AVANCE L3, L5 or LX5 platforms to enable access to our high-speed 5G ATG network. Installing AVANCE platforms also opens the route to Gogo Galileo, our global low-earth orbit broadband satellite service for optimized inflight productivity through internet, voice, streaming, popular pilot applications, and more.
If you're a legacy equipment user, we encourage you to speak to your avionics shop, Gogo dealer, or one of our team members sooner rather than later to take advantage of our valuable incentive offers.
To reiterate, customers completing a Gogo C1 installation before 31 December 2025 are eligible for a $35,000 installation incentive, and we have other generous promotions enabling the direct transition to Gogo AVANCE. We don't want to see any customers lose connection in May 2026, and with these generous incentives available, you don't need to risk it.
