Last August, we expanded Interview Briefings with richer candidate context: application form submissions, a dedicated take-home tab, custom job fields, and job posting details. Since then, they've been included by default for every new Ashby account. Teams that opted into expanded Interview Briefings during the original rollout have continued using them over the past year. Now we're completing that rollout so every team gets access.
Starting September 1, 2026, the expanded Interview Briefings experience will turn on automatically for any account that hasn't yet set a preference. Admins keep full control over the rollout for their team.
If your team had already made a choice during the previous opt-in period, or joined Ashby after August 8th, 2025, nothing changes:
If your team hasn't made a selection yet, you have three options over the next 30 days:
Application form submissions. See exactly what candidates submitted, including responses to specific questions and longer entries like cover letters, so interviewers have direct access to the candidate's application.
Dedicated take-home tab. Candidate instructions, reviewer instructions, and the candidate's submission all live in one consolidated view.
Custom job fields. Job-specific custom fields can now display directly on the briefing tab, giving interviewers immediate visibility into role requirements and context. This builds on our existing candidate custom fields to provide a more complete view.
Job posting context. Optionally display the job posting a candidate applied to, so interviewers understand which role and requirements brought the candidate into your process.
Interview Briefings are where your interviewers prepare for conversations with candidates. Having this context in one place, without navigating between screens or pinging teammates for documents, helps your team deliver a consistent, well-prepared interview experience.
This is available on all plans at no additional cost. To opt in early, head to the early access page and configure these settings. You can also head to the Interview Briefing settings to manage these settings once enabled.
