Bridge Repairs over Route 145 on I-95 in Westbrook

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that bridge repair will be performed on I-95 and Route 145 in Westbrook. This project has already begun and will be completed in short order. Project 0154-0131 consists of assessment and repair to Bridge over Route 145 due to damage caused by a northbound vehicular collision on Friday, September 5, 2025, to the leading end pier column in the center median.

CTDOT Project No. 0154-0131 is being performed by Manafort Brothers, Inc, and is scheduled to be completed as soon as possible. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 2 in Norwich, CT.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

The median breakdown lanes are closed on both north and southbound directions of I- 95 enveloping the center pier of the Route 145 overpass. Intermittent left lane closures may be warranted on I-95 north and southbound as repairs progress. These closures could occur any time of day during the week, over the course of the next few months leading up to December 30, 2025. Traffic control signing patterns will be deployed when lane closures are necessary.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
